While there were a few annoying typos (Tankful=thankful, ismy= is my) and a few times I think he writer lost grasp of what actions the characters were doing in a scene, I enjoyed this storyline. Good character development, and a unique plot. I was annoyed by all the lip-biting (at least 6 books I've read in the past month have had heroines biting their lip, and I have to say I don't know anyone in real life who does this-- then when Tia and one of the guys in this book bit their lips also, I was ready to throw my hands up in the air--along with my Kindle.). This ends on a cliffhanger, which I hadn't expected- I assumed the series would focus on a different lottery wife each story, but this is a serial-type read, so be aware. My 3.5 rating is rounded up due to the nice cast of characters.

4.5 Stars!! Great start to a new series by Charlie Hart and Chantel Seabrook. This book grabbed me from the first chapter and I'm glad it was the weekend so I didn't have to try and sneak in reading at work haha. Book 1 sets the scene for our MC, Tia (who is not who she says she is) as she marries 6 men in Alaska. The world the authors have depicted sounds horrible, making the storyline griping and intriguing (idea feels very fresh for me which I really appreciated). This book primarily focuses on one of Tia's husbands, Fallon, but she gets time with each of them (not sexy time, but we get to see their relationships build or struggle when in Tia's POV.

Tia has a tough time getting used to be a stay at home wife, after being a science wize back home. She goes to Alaska as a sort of asylum, but is worried about her past catching up to her. I really fell in love with the different men, especially Fallon, Emerson, and Giles in this book. I am so glad Book 2 was available already, gonna go sink my teeth into that one now. I recommend people pick up this book and get ready for some steam scenes, but some real heart to heart talks. This is my favorite of Charlie Hart's so far (1st for Chantel), can't wait to read more!
I'm not usually a fan of series, but I am a definite fan of these two authors so I was more than willing to give this a chance. The set-up is creative, unique, and captivating - in a world where women are becoming more and more rare, a woman who can bear children is worth any price and is the highest prize worth fighting for. Alaska is faring a bit better than the rest of the world, and they have set up a lottery system where young women are married to six men, each of whom has paid a hefty price to enter the lottery for her hand and are bound by honor and by law to protect her and care for her, no matter what.

Tia is a strong woman, fleeing from her father's cruelty, determined to have at least some say in her future. She's partnered up with six men, and this first book focuses on the true leader of the group, Fallon. Each of the men are introduced in this book, but we learn a lot more about Fallon as this book alternates between his and Tia's POVs. As expected with a six-part series, this ends on a cliffhanger.

The story is complex and multi-layered, and told in a truly spellbinding manner. The issues that are presented in this book look like they'll be woven throughout the series, presumably as each subsequent book focuses on a different one of Tia's husbands. The dystopian world is exquisitely detailed, familiar yet hauntingly different. I'm very much looking forward to reading the remaining books in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
A dystopian world were men far out number the women. In the continental US, women are bought and sold by the wealthy. Polyandry is the norm for most the rest of the world. Alaska offers the most freedom and protection. Tia's father has promised her to one of his friends, who is less then desirable. She flees and makes her way to Alaska. She is given the option of joining the wife lottery, which is the only way she can stay. The lottery works by men who are able, buy tickets for a specific women and six are chosen. The 7 are bound in marriage. To protect and provide for their wife and for each child born a bonus, and a girl child, ensures the mother freedom and protection.
Goods story and interesting characters. This is a serial and does end in a cliffhanger. The story is told by Tia and Tallon, the alpha of her men, a self appointed leader. Each book will be told by a different man. Normally I don't like these types of books, I do like this author so was willing to give it a chance. Really liked this book, so I have preorder the books that are available. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book is the tale of there meeting and her getting acquainted with them. It also has one of the men's POV, Fallon. It ends on a very intense cliffhanger. Already preordered the next two in the series.
